About · Since 2002

Twenty-four years in eCommerce is a choice.

Most firms diversify. We doubled down: into the code, the payments layer, and eventually the governance of the platform itself.

The beats

2002. Founded in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, helping businesses get online before “eCommerce agency” was a thing.

The extensions become infrastructure. What started as modules for our own clients became payment code the wider ecosystem runs: 465k+ installs, $4.5B+ a year in transactions (as of 2026). Volume like that changes how you write software: every release we make is a production event for thousands of stores.

Adobe moves upmarket. New feature investment shifted to paid SaaS tiers; open-source Magento kept the patches but lost the roadmap. Thousands of serious merchants were left committed to a platform whose vendor was looking elsewhere. That shift is the reason independent platform management exists as a business: someone has to be structured for the long term.

We co-found Mage-OS rather than exit. When the community needed a governed, independently maintained distribution, we helped build it. ParadoxLabs employees helped to found it and are active on the Board of Directors and core development team to this day.

Today. Active management is the business model, not a tagline: retainer-led, 100% in-house, structured for decade-long client relationships on a platform we help sustain.
