It is always the best practice to thank your customers for making a purchase with your company. But what about all of the other people who keep the company running? In the midst of making sales and marketing products, take some time to show appreciation for all of the people who help make your business successful.
Customers
You should already be thanking your customers whenever you get the chance. At Thanksgiving, though, it’s time to up your game and surpass expectations. This should not be a sales pitch, but sincere expression of appreciation. Give your customers a major shout-out on social media and let them know how awesome they are. Hold a contest with great prizes or give something away to each customer, like free shipping. Offer double points for loyalty reward programs or give a discount to repeat customers. You can also use exclusive offers, like mobile-only coupons or a sale for those who subscribe to your blog. For more tips, check out our previous post on customer appreciation.
Employees
If your business has employees, this is a great time to let them know how much you appreciate their hard work. A catered lunch or nice meal out is an easy and effective way to say thanks and give everyone some time to relax. The holiday season is stressful for everyone, so why not give them an afternoon off to run their errands, or offer a more flexible schedule during this time. Of course, make sure to verbalize your appreciation as well. In addition to saying “great job,” tell your employee something specific they did was especially helpful or lucrative.
Vendors
In addition to employees, there are many other people responsible for keeping your business running smoothly. Be sure to acknowledge those who you may not see all the time, but who play a big role in getting you what you need. Vendors might include wholesale buyers, consultants, suppliers, printers, stores carrying your product, and more. Letters of appreciation or recommendations are a good way to show your thanks.
Associates
Don’t forget about all of the other people who interact with your business on a daily basis. This could include the delivery person, mail carrier, building maintenance staff, parking attendant, and anyone else who keeps your company running smoothly. Write them a nice card or thank you note, letting them know how much you appreciate what they do. You may also opt to get them a small gift. Individuals who work for another company, like mail carriers, may not be able to accept certain kinds of gifts, so check their company’s policies beforehand.
